TEN (CLEVELAND) |

Inspired
by the rave and club scene in Colorado and
New Mexico, Cloud Ten first got behind the
decks in late 1999 while living in Denver.
He quickly progressed from performing at
local house parties to rocking Denver hotspots
like Tracks 2000 and Fusion.
In 2001, Cloud Ten relocated to Cleveland,
Ohio, where his deep trance/progressive
house sound expanded to include acid house,
tech-house, and breaks. His unique and energetic
style soon made him a favorite at venues
like Wish, Metropolis, Spy Bar, Cloud 9,
and Twist, and earned him residencies at
Mercury Lounge and Abbasso.
While artists like Bjork and The Prodigy
influenced Cloud Ten's forays into electronic
dance music, his roots reside in the music
of bands like Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin.
When listening to a Cloud Ten DJ set, one
can sense him channeling the raw energy
and trippy inventiveness of such early rock
pioneers to create both a physically and
mentally powerful experience.
"I love being in another world for
a night and not have to worry about grown-up
bullshit," explains Cloud Ten of his
love for dance-music culture. "I love
the people out there trying hard to keep
this music alive and strong. There's so
much passion."
This passion is no better defined than in
Cloud Ten himself, who brings a tireless
enthusiasm both behind the turntables and
as a supporter of the Cleveland dance-music
scene. Spend a night with Cloud Ten, and
you will likely find yourself inspired,
as well. |
